Made a major switch...

Well I've always shot Canon equipment and by doing so I became really good at post processing. I hadn't read anything about the D7100 at all. One day the wife and I were at a local Sam's Club and I playfully picked up one. Something about this camera made me decide to jump ship. I took a few shots with it yesterday, only have had it 2 days but the pics right out of the camera are amazing. These shots taken in raw have only had temperature adjusted and little to no sharpening. Will invest in great glass soon but the 18-140 and 55-300 kit lenses are amazing right outa the box. Can't wait to see what the Nikon 105 will do on this rig. It's made me proud to say I shoot a Nikon.

1. Panning try with the 55-300 VR kit lens.
2. Busy Honeybee at work on a flowering crabapple 18-140 VR kit lens.
3. Honeybee moving on. 18-140 VR kit lens.

Well Mikew, always been my belief that the family that shoots together...decided that my wife might enjoy my hobby with me so I loaded up the Nikon bag that came with my new kit with my old Canon 20D and its gear and introduced my greatest love with my passion. Hey, if you gotta have a mistress then I'd say photography is a safe one for the wife to know about! Well at least till she see's the bills from B&H for new glass that is! ;) But having my wife onboard will make it nice. She moved from Ireland, so I have a captive tour guide to lead me around. Her family resides in Ireland, Wales, the Isle of Man, and England. And I've got the states covered so it should make for some great photog books. LoL Again thanks for the kind comments guys, the wife is amazed.

Welcome to the forum. You shouldn't say that since the owner might not do anymore upgrades. ;)

Congrats on your new camera.

Welcome, Billy D! :) You chose a terrific camera, and already your photos look great! Can't wait to see what they look like in a few months if this is where you are starting with a Nikon! :)

By the way, if you want to 'mention' someone on Nikonites, just type the @ symbol followed by the person's name (do not include a space after the @). When you type the post and preview it, it won't hyperlink, but once you submit the post, it will work. Let me give you a holler so you can see how it works. ;)

@Billy D nice to have you here. :D

The underline will automatically happen once the post is submitted, too.
