I went from the D3100 to the D7100 a few months ago, its a big jump, but all worth the effort to get to know the D7100.
It was all a bit daunting at first, but after reading the manual with camera in hand, it didnt take long to get the hang of it.

Good luck, its a great camera.

Congrats!!! I made the leap from D5100 to D7100 3 months back and am so glad that I do. Yes learning curve ... but if you are diligant and use it, it is relatively short.

What's the main learning curve?

For me, it was just remembering what all the buttons do.. I was so ingrained into the menus from my D5100. I would be driving to work and want to bracket and could not remember... get to work and look it up!!! :) Most things only took one or 2 tries.. I would say I was reasonably converted over in about 4 days of shooting.

Once you learn the buttons, changes are so much quicker and easier..

Nice. Was considering the D7100 as my upgrade within the next few years.

Here is a pic I took today with the D7100 and 35mm 1.8g Lens..Thoughts?
Nice shot. You don't want your images edited so I'll leave it alone but it clearly needs some tweaking in post.

Color is balance is a bit off and it needs a levels adjustment or a maybe something done with the contrast or exposure and a little sharpening to finish it. I'd have to play around with it some to know for sure...

Tnx..I did post edit it..The Iso was to high when I took that pic ,so I tweaked everything that you mentioned and came up with the result you see..I thought it looked great and thanks for your input..

I forget to lower my ISO after shooting in low light, messed up some good shots because of it.

My thoughts on your second photo: Those two look like trouble…… ;) and a lot of fun.

Congratulations
