Very nice. Even though the last 3 didn't work as you planned I find the 3rd one interesting. I like the light and clouds coming down over that back mtn range maybe a little crop off the left side and along the top? IDK for some reason I like the last one :)

They look great, I really like the look of the first one.

I also like the 2nd batch. If you didnt say they didnt turn out right, I would have thought that was how they were supposed to be.

I see snidey you got a 7000 as well ....some comparison shots would be good ...I find the bar coded label on a wine bottle shot at about 8ft f8 and 50mm makes a good test chart when zoomed in ....Comparisons on another site seem to show very little difference between D600 and D7100 which is a good start ....

A few more that didn't quite turn out

On the contrary, the contrast is awesome! Are you post processing in CaptureNX2 or are these JPEGs? If you're using CaptureNX2, I would save them as TIFFs and bring them into LR or PS to adjust and make them pop!!!!

I am importing them into View NX2, saving them all as tiffs ,then bringing them into Lightroom. Kind of a pain ,but it works until they support.

Sorry sold the 7000

I expect that Adobe will "sneak" in support for the D7100 when LR 4.4 is released. They've done things like that in the past. I'd guess we'll see the release in the next two weeks based on past timeframes after a beta was available.

Beautiful pictures, got my D7100 last saturday and got the MB-D15 grip yesterday moved from Canon EOS 7D and am amazed at the difference D7100 much sharper and far less noise.

Really itching to get out and about but really bad weather here in UK at the moment.
