Nikon D7000 dead again after repair?!

I bought a D7000 from pixmania (Sweden) end of july this year. Together with my lenses I was really happy with this camera (As usual you don't look for negative reviews until something is wrong with it).

I for myself was going on exchange to Singapore where I still am until dec 15th.When my camera broke I consulted pixmania and asked them what to do and they told me they could send UPS to my home adress in Sweden to pick up the camera and repair it for me.

Being over here I didnt want to send it all the way to Europ risking losing it on the way and agreed I'd bring it ot the Nikon service center here in Singapore.They estimated the cost and I let them repair the camera. Once they had exchanged the motherboard (or card?) as they said they called me to tell they needed to replace another part for an additional 40 SGD, to the already estimated 150 SGD. Ok for me I just want my camera back, I have hardly been able to use it cause it broke right away after I got here...

I picked it up and paid as was so happy that I finally could turn the cam on again and that it seemed alive. For ten minutes I walked around the city and test-shot some pics and turned it on and off without it dieing on me again during these minutes. Then I turned the cam off... on the train home I turned it on to look at my pics and AGAIN it was DEAD.

I got so chocked and upset that the issue was back (and probs never left to begin with) I just but it back in my bag and went home. There I charged the battery to exclude this issue yet again (thought that both of my batteries which are original Nikon, one brand new, other one from july) wer the issue from the beginning). But nothing cam flashed and is now DEAD again. Just as it was when I gave it to Nikon for repair.

I really am missing out on keeping all my memories from here in South East Asia (aside from the obvious part of being upset about having to deal with these issues on a totally new product)...It seems like the cam is short-circuiting itself or something, since I could turn it one once and then no more,WHATS WRONG WITH IT? Has this happened to you?

I only found issues where they actually couldnt turn the cam off... All feedback appreciated. Also I checked the batteries none of them is among the recalled faulty EN-EL15 models...

Take it back and tell them to fix it properly this time..

I'm assuming the camera has a warranty. If it's within the warranty period, I would demand a new camera from the manufacturer.

Hey. i bought my nikon D7000 two weeks ago, i went out in copenhagen to shoot some pics but after and half hour camera went dead Totally! thought matbe just the battery went flad. When i got home i recharged the battery but still nothing happend. The next day i contacted the store where i bought the camera and they told me to turn it in at DFA(nikon repair), so i did and they told me they would send it to some where in europe to repair it and they did, was told it would take about 10-12 work days.
After 8 days, they called me and told me my camera was repaired and i could come get it.
I went, got the camera and turned it on and had no problems, took around 5 pics at my house turned the camera off again, and went outside to take some more pictures ( i had only used the camera 30 mins. in ALL!!) when i got out side the camera when dead again changed the battery (original nikon) and still no power... going to egypt in two weeks, sucks if i have no camera...

If youve only had the camera a few weeks I would demand a new camera from the store where it was puchased. If the wouldnt I'd contact Nikon and demand a new unit. It shouldnt need repair aftet a few weeks that is unacceptable. Sorry you are having problems. I hope the make it right.
