D7000 Shutter Jams with Repeated Use

So I have a problem with my D7000 and I see lots of people with similar sounding issues but I cant find the exact match. I have performed the troubleshooting steps that have been recommended to no avail at this point.

So here is what is happening in the best way I can describe. The problem can be easily replicated when taking fast bursts of photos. If I set the shooting mode to CH and hold the trigger then after about 10 pictures it will slow down and finally stop. When it stops it displays 'ERR' on the display. From then on it makes a clunking sound when you press the shutter. It acts as if it cant move the mirror up and down. Now I know what the broken mirror problem looks like and this is not it. The mirror is intact, and in fact you can make the camera start working again fairly easily. So far one of these 3 actions has brought the camera back to life. Either turn it off and wait, remove the battery, or remove the lens. The one that makes it work again can seems to vary so I don't know what to think about that.

Of course, you don't have to just hold the shutter down to make it happen but thats the quickest way to replicate it. I also discovered that when using an external flash it may only be about to take about 3 pictures in a 10 second span before it jams. And just today I found out that flipping the camera into the Live View mode will kill it immediately.

It seems to act like it just doesn't have the battery power needed to operate but both batteries are doing the same thing. They show as full on the display as well. I have recharged them and tried again to no avail.

All of my lenses do the same thing as well, therefore i don't see how it can be the lens itself. The contacts on everything appear to be clean but just for the fun of it I cleaned them all. No success there either.

Has anyone else experienced something like this and how did you fix it? It doesn't seem like there is anything physically wrong because it starts working again but I cant figure it out.

I just tried formatting a card and tried again. Same problem. This time it jammed within 3 shots. First show was normal, second was slow to trigger, and the third completed only half of the operation. Something physically sounds different inside the camera body when this problem happens. I let the camera sit for a minute while turned off and now back to normal.

I read something the other day about knock off SD cards with legit labels on them. Advertised as fast cards but not, often bought off ebay or the like. Have you tried switching to JPEG to see if problem still persists? Try another card maybe. I have no experience with this issue, but thought i would suggest something that I read about. Good luck. Hope its not serious.

I'd echo what Pleiades says, this may be a buffer full issue. I'd try with another, known fast speed card, to see if the symptoms are persistent.
