Removing the "star eater" feature from the D7000

It looks like the guys over at Nikon Hacker have figured out how to remove the feature on the D7000 that sometimes makes stars disappear when photographing them. This happens because of Nikon's noise reduction & hot pixel filtering and has been dubbed the star eater feature.

what is this about? I am to lazy to look at all those posts.

Simple.
In early days Nikon was plagued with Noise reduction & chroma reduction problems.
So they incorporated heavy NR on their raw files making stars in the night sky disappearing.

So this patch now combats that high NR in D7000 (and apparently D5100) so none of the stars disappear.

Hope that makes sense :)
