Fix for hot pixel issues

Turned out to be a bigger problem than they anticipated, all around the world reports D7000 are being returned, Best Buy US has evidently lots of open boxes (returns), Just like buying a new Auto with dirty gas tank, "Oh you had better use this or it won't run right", Is there a precedent being set here for the probable next Nikon incarnation, Yes I am a little peeved, this should have been dealt with before it hit the stores, according to the post above, they knew about it, and in their infinite wisdom decided not to pursue, So I will have to wait a while longer, to see what is going to happen, is this not a recall situation, Oh yes it would be catastrophic what with trying to get out new and returns dealt with, gonna be interesting to say the least

If Nikon doesn't do something fairly quick, all those retailers worldwide are gonna have lots of returned units which I'm sure they will dispose of as open box or used merchandise, scarey thought.

Then this would not even be a issue for me, if I were to look at getting a D7000.
I would never use the video function…lol. To me shooting video on a DSLR camera just seems wrong…lol. So this problem would not be a issue at all for me J.

LOL.......I'm with Curt on this one. I'm hoping that someday, Nikon will make a D7000 version without the video mode, as it's not necessary in a DSLR. You want to take video......buy a video camera! :)

I have a D7000 and did the firmware update, I will add that my one red pixel didn't go away the first try with the update, had to run it twice before the red pixel issue was cured.
To rerun the firmware update I removed the SD card and formatted it again and then added the firmware update to the card again. If you just try to rerun the update you will notice there will NOT be the update option from the firmware version tab. Hope this makes sense. Ken
