D7000 with Nikkor - S.C. Auto 50mm f1.4

Hey guys this is my first post and I'd like someone to further educate and guide me in the right direction. Today I was meeting with a guy today and I was going to be purchasing an older model Nikkor lens if I can get it to work. To my knowledge, I thought all Nikkor or Nikon lenses fit all F-Mounts. It would fit into the groves but would rotate in place to lock it. I'va attached some images to shed some light on this situation. Please help. Thanks in advance!

That looks like you have a pre AI lens there. They aren't compatible with the pro/semi DSLR range unless modified unfortunately. You can mount them unmodded on D3X00/5X00 range cameras iirc but without metering.

I looked it up and it was made in 1973 or 74. Without an AI conversion it definitely won't meter. More info on that here: Nikkor Lens Information by Thom Hogan
