Hi all,

I hope i have changed a setting somewhere, but i can't see that i have.
I am 99% sure i could, when on a tripod for eg, switch to live view, zoom in to max magnification, then use the wheel to go left/right, up/down, to get to, lets say an eye which wasn't in the centre of the shot, to focus manually.

I haven't needed to do this for a while, but i just tried it today, and when zoomed in, it wouldn't let me move from the very centre of the zoomed in frame.

I hope this makes sense?

thanks,

I don't know about the wheel, but the multifunction arrow thing should move you around while zoomed in live view. But I believe if the focus lock lever is set to 'lock', it will not move you around in live view either. The wheels should be changing your exposure, depending on what mode you are in.

Ya. nickt might have the answer. I'm not sure what kind of camera it is, but make sure the focus lock switch isn't locked, because you won't be able to change focus points. As for movies, not too sure because I don't take any movies, but I'd assume it would be the same or similar not being able to move if the focus lock switch is locked onto a single (most likely center) point. What kind of camera?

Sorry all it wasn't so clear, it's a D7000, and i meant the multifunction button not the wheels,

and yes, nickt is spot on with the answer. The focus lock was on.
It's totally worth feeling a bit foolish (I expected it to be a setting, turned out it was a switch) to know it's working fine!!

thanks
