It's and adapter that goes between the lens and camera to give these older micro lenses true 1/1. Using one of them requires a rail to focus at all. If I'm remembering right. I've done it all before, but I can't always remember things.

PS. I never could free hand macro shots. I shake to much.

I'm not sure what they are called anymore. But they are a tube that goes between the camera and lens without any glass in it. They use to come in different lengths.
