Just picked up a D700. It's my first full frame DSLR. It's nice to be able to use all of my old 35mm glass. Really liking this camera so far.

Beautiful photo.

I recently went full frame (D600) and really like it as well. Only thing I miss, doing mostly wildlife photos, is the reach of the DX. But I am dealing with that. The image quality from my old D300 is amazing. And the more mpx, (from 12 - 24) is wonderful as well. Being able to crop a little bit more helps with the loss of the crop of the DX. I am limited with lenses as my wider angle lenses are all DX. I have not tried shooting in DX mode with it. Kinda defeats the the point. I am hoping to get a 50mm 1.8. I have always loved using the 50mm. So versatile.

I look forward to seeing more of your images.

Thanks. I looked at the D600 and D800. Just a bit above my current budget though. I figured the D700 would be a step up from my old D90. I have some “nice” glass from my days as a newspaper photographer. For me, the D700 allows me to see what I’m use to seeing out of my F4 and F5. I hope to
Up the megapixel count within a couple of years.

You need to resize the photo before you upload it here. You have better control of the photo than the internet does.

Guidelines to adding a photo to your post.

1. Resize photo to 1000px on the long side.
2. Resolution set to 72ppi (Pixels Per Inch)

These guidelines will be good for viewing on a computer but will not be good for printing. This will help safeguard your copyright.

The D700 is one of those cameras that I can't seem to get rid of. It was my first FX digital camera, and while it lacks the sensor resolution of more modern FX bodies, it is tough as nails.

I bought mine almost a year ago and I love it. I really have been surprised how much I use it over the D7200. I end up using the D700 for most things and the D7200 when I want to reach out with my 200-500 F/5.6 Nikon Lens. Nice first photo.
