Are there no D700 users left here?

There are still members here using the D700. You will probably find them posting in the general run of the forum.

I shoot with the D7100, but I rarely post in the D7100 forum.

I have lots of shots made with my D700 in my "Marcel's once in a while thread" in General photography forum. I'll try to get you the link.... Here it is.

I use other cameras as well but still refuse to let go of my D700 because it produces great images that don't take too much room on my drives.

I have my D700 out right now, and I'm using it for shots that don't require the pixel density that the D750 has. It's still a very good camera for my needs.

That is something I never thought about. Can you give me an example?

I shoot a lot of stuff for my local high school marching band; most all of which will never be enlarged beyond 8x10. I took both the D700 and D750 to California for our Rose Parade trip, and usually had the 70 - 200 on the D750 along with the 35 mm or 50 mm on front of the D700.

One of the shots from the D750 is being used for a road-side sign that will be printed at 8 x 12, ... feet. I'm anxious to see what that looks like.

[OT] That's another nice one, that D200. I've been shooting outdoors with it lately, and like it very much. One thing that's struck me with these is that even the 10mp D200 produces more pixels than can be shown at once (at 100%) on my 4K monitor (Dell P2815Q). So for posting to the web, 12mp will be more than adequate. (Of course, I understand that selling pics is another matter, since cropping or printing large is sometimes necessary.)
As for the D8xx series, I was wishing for the D810 for a while, but now I think I'd go for a used D3S instead. That's because I shot for a while with a 12mp Sony A7S; the 12mp was fine, and it really is a low-light beast, but I never cared for the handling. Since then I realized that the D3S would have been a 'keeper'. I might have gone for that instead of the D700, but the price difference was too great. I have no regrets, though - the D700 looks to be quite nice.

I have shot some good photos with the D200 reason I kept one of the two I owned and bought the D700 for the full frame use with my old glass.
Both bodies seem to have close ties as far as color rendition.
Unfortunately I sold my DX lenses with the other D200 the widest lens I have is the Rokinon 14mm full frame so it pulls close to 20+mm on the D200.

My D700 came this afternoon! Still checking it out (looking great), but I have to mention -- the first test shot I loaded into Picasa to see the shutter count: 742!
