    I get my jump in speed with the mdb10 and the enel3e... so it's not so much the speed I would be looking for.

    I think everyone should follow and do. Please do not assume we know what's in your camera bag, I left my magic mind reading hat at the repair shop because it does not work past my computer screen.

    You don't really get the jump in speed per second with that battery in the grip. The AA tray will give you the speed or the en-el4a battery. Trust me, that your D700 has much more speed to explore by either the AA tray or the en-el4a batteries.

    I used the mb-D10 battery grip with the en-el3e battery on my D700 until I bought these en-el4a batteries and bl-3 battery door covers.
