Hi I am using a Nikon D70 with the remote that came with it and it works perfectly well, apart from when I use it after a few minutes the icon goes off and I have to set it again,so is there away of keeping the icon and the remote working for a longer period of time ,best wishes Brian.

Custom Settings Menu, option 25 Remote. This setting determines how long the camera will look for a signal from the remote before reverting back. The longest duration is something like 15 minutes.

The D70 *is* a quirky little beast.

Go to Menu > Setup Menu (wrench icon) > CSM menu and set it to "Detailed". This should expand the CSM Menu.

Hi Paul I followed your instructions but no joy, I set it to detailed but still nothing, I will keep trying a bit to see if it will eventfully work Brian.

Hi sorted ,select detailed and then go in to pencil and the remote setting are there and like you said it can be set to 15 mins very grateful my friend,Brian.
Okay, great! I guess I wasn't being clear that, once you expand the CSM Menu setting in the Setup Menu, you have to then go back to the CSM Menu to adjust the remote-on setting.

Anyhoo... Glad you got it all figured out.

No problem my friend, I am just glad I now have 15 mins time so I can capture some birds flying in for the feeders at the bottom of my garden, so thanks again,Brian
