Reccs for d70 lenses for low light sports and portrait

Looking to shoot at kids' indoor sporting events (zoom probably necessary for basketball and the like) and also want to do some family portraits. Is this one really expensive zoom or two different lenses?

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum, not got any lens suggestion but i do feel you will struggle with your chosen subjects using a D70,high ISO will not be good, seam to remember about 400ISO was the sensible upper limit and that was still very noisy

Thanks for responding. I agree with you and that was another of my concerns.

A 70-200 2.8 would work well for sports and portraits. Nikon or third party. If you look at the used market, variants (like the 80-200) start at under $1000.
