sENSOR IS SCRATCHED ON MY nIKON d-70 CAN ANYBODY HELP OR SUGGEST ANYTHING?

First, there is a filter that is on top of the sensor and if you see a scratch on it with a loupe then it will need to be replaced. This is not an inexpensive repair. There are companies other than Nikon that are capable of the repair. Here is one: Life Pixel Infrared Shop :: Scratched sensor - filter replacement service but at $325.00 you really need to evaluate the overall worth of the D70. You can buy a used D70 for less. Also, a D70 is a very populare IR Conversion (they change the sensor filter) camera and that may give you a different use for the camera. I have often thought of buying a used D70 just to do the specialty conversion and have a camera dedicated for IR. Sorry I don't have better news.
