A new Digital Camera RAW Update is now available for Aperture and iPhoto users to allow you to work with your RAW files. Just check for updates on your Mac's and it will appear — for D600 and Nikon 1 J2, plus other brands of cameras.

Cheers, Macjim.

Interesting... I just did a software update on my computer running Mountain Lion (!0.8.2) and received the Raw update. Then went and did the same on another computer running Snow Leopard (10.6.8) and never received it. You may need the latest version of Mac OSX to enable the Raw update...

That would be mean… I'll see on my laptop which is running Mountain Lion to check if raw is available.

I was able to get the update on my Lion (OSX 10.7.5) box and open a D600 RAW in iPhoto. I gotta say that it's a bit glitchy (sometimes won't re-render when zooming in) but it does a pretty decent job.

I don't actually use iPhoto with my DSLR (it manages my iPhone photos though)... but I am still using Lightroom 3 so I haven't had a chance to play with a D600 RAW before now. Damn there is a lot of detail and _so little_ noise at ISO 100. It's a godsend compared to my Canon 7D!

Now I need to snag LightRoom 4 so I get down to real RAW editing business!
