D600 cannot be used as webcam as it does not transmit the full screen

I was trying to use my D600 with the new Nikon webcam utility.
despite the fact it is not formally supported, it does show on my mac. However it is showing a smaller image (there is a wide black frame around it) :(
I found some old posts from 2013 which are saying firmware update 1.01 solved that problem. Since I did not install any firmware updates, I went ahead and installed 1.04 (the current version), but that did not solve the problem.
Is anyone using the D600 as a webcam?
What is the solution for getting a proper 1080 output through HDMI?

I would appreciate any tips.

Welcome to the forum.

I can't help on the webcam issue, but there may be some on here that can help you out. They'll come along in time.

I'm not conversant with this function, but my (now ancient) D5100 has a limit on how long it'll shoot video. I'm guessing the "utility" deletes the limit?

Welcome aboard. Enjoy the ride.
We look forward to seeing more posts and samples of your work.

The only way to use this camera would be via some third party hack as the Nikon software is NOT compatible with the D600.

I read in my D5100 for Dummies book that functions using Live View (as with video) are limited in length because of circuit heat build-up within the camera. I think videos are limited to something like 20 minutes.
