    i also moved from D300 to D610. big difference in ISO and color. for birds, i would suggest adding a teleconverter. I am sure you will love it.

    I have done fine with the 200-500 on the D600 for birds. I do have the Nikon 1.4 converter I tried for the first time the other day. Seemed to do just fine. I have not looked at the photos yet.
