Focus point & Spot metering

I saw a video that said that some cameras have the option that when you move your focus point the spot metering locks on the focus point. Basically, it will not stay metering the small center area. It will move with the selected focus point. My question is, is this option on a Nikon D610? If I decide to move my focus point to the top right of my 39 points, will the spot meter adjust to that top right? Or stay metering from the center?

From my understanding of the manual this is the case. If you select single point focus and spot metering then you can choose the point you want. If you are in any of the other area focus modes then you wont know where the camera is metering as it will choose it's own focus point.
