I took some bored test shots because I needed to kill some time before a shoot and I thought I would take some teleconverter shots. Here are a few samples. One at 140mm then at 400mm all at f5.6 with ISO 800. Thanks

I use that combo and it needed a lot of fine tuning. In fact I sent it to Nikon with my D800 and it came back from them at -20. It can return some very good results.

I noticed that this afternoon after trying to get a cardinal in a tree and it was on center single focus and just would not lock on the bird. Oh well maybe one day I will send in the combo. Thanks

You should be able to tune it yourself, I just happened to have some gear that needed mechanical adjustment as well. It doesn't affect AF speed, it's to correct front or back focus issues.
