D600 class action brewing?

This is fishing too, I really would like to know the percentage that were affected. As it goes you only here the complaints and the majority don't even know about it or care.

I guess the actual numbers would have to come from Nikon and I bet they aren't going to provide those numbers anytime soon.

I'd rather have a recall than a class action suit. The suit will just make the rich lawyers richer. A recall will mean I'll get a new camera, haha.

Interesting. And I wonder if they are aware that Nikon reimbursed some people for their D600's. Hmm...it would also be interesting to know how many people actually received reimbursements.

Exactly Don, I wonder if the lawyer that started this bought a d600 that had issues.

If Nikon reacts then that will be great, but this will make lawyers a ton of money.

This has been my only disappointment with Nikon. Unfortunately, they let me down in a very expensive way. If it comes to be I will join even if I only get $50 it will pay for a few years of cleaning material. That and they deserve to be punished for insulting my intelligence.

I agree Rick, something should be done and if this lawsuit moves forward with any steam then Nikon will respond. I would love a 610, but don't have any issues with mine. I think I got lucky and bought one after they fixed the issue. Even the camera store said that he hadn't had any of the recent ones come back. Now I have no clue on the timeline for those. Just seems like a lot of the numbers that no one knows about needs to come out. If nikon said no issues, then quote sales numbers and the number of cameras fixed or replaced.

Class action lawsuits have no value or point for the affected. If I had a magic wand I would require 75% of all settlements or judgments must be paid to the affected. Or, the result of class actions would have to be a recall or mandatory fix and not some ridiculous amount of money to be paid to a lawyer that has no interest other than to make money off of the affected who will see NO BENEFIT.

I speak from the standing of having just purchased a D600 and even if my camera was the worst to ever grace the planet I would never participate in a pay the lawyer class action.

Making something right is really the way to go for them. If they fail to do so they risk alienating their customer base and besmirching the Nikon brand. They need to get ahead of any lawsuit now or risk customer loyalty.
