DxOMark's Best Lenses for the D600

I don't know about "no brainer". They're very different cameras, and there are certain situations that would have me point to one or the other. I do believe the D800 is the better sports and wildlife camera as it offers the option of shooting in cropped mode and still getting 16MP. The no brainer for me is that if you can afford to go FX now then you should.

BTW, I'm seeing refurbs going for $1599 now. Plop down the $10 for the Adorama VIP membership and get one with a 1 year warranty and you'll be dancing a jig.

I agree with this. I'm not thrilled with the focus areas.

The D800 in DX mode at 16MP is very tempting.

Papa...I have a D5000...the viewfinder is like trying to look through the peephole on my front door...maybe even worse. LOL

A D800 at 1600 bucks sounds awful tempting but I also like that sensor in the D600 a whole lot.

I'd buy 2!! haha. J/K. I can't afford 1. :-( I didn't hit the 600 million dollar lottery. I would have bought D800's for the entire forum. :)
