Smile Sigma 8-16mm wide angle lens for D60

Has anyone ever used this lens? I was thinking about getting this wide angle lens for landscapes.

It is a very new lens to the market so you might want to check the reviews on B&H. I have the Sigma 10-20 and absolutely love it. A couple things working against this lens IMHO is that it has a slide-on lens hood and doesn't accept filters.

I'm not sure if it will work on your camera body since it doesn't have an AF-focus motor. Hopefully someone else can confirm.

The D60 does not have a camera body focus motor so you would be limited to manual focus.

Manual focus isn't much of a problem for me anymore, but thank you for the help!

I was out shopping for a wide angle lens today and one that I looked at is the Tokina 11-16/f2.8. There is the original version and the new version II which DOES have a focus motor built into it for your camera. I don't need that feature and it added about a $100 to the cost but it could be a nice option for you. I still am sorting out some details on which lens I pick but this one was solid build and still a contender.
    Good luck-

I'm sure the OP has made a choice given its been 3 years now.

I believe the "HSM" designation on the lens stands for "High Speed Motor" which means the autofocus should work just fine with the D60.

I have the lens and used it a lot with my D7000 and D90 before going full frame. I still use it with my D800 in DX mode when the shot warrants it. I love the lens as it gives you surreal views for landscapes, sunrises, sunsets and the like. My only complaint, if you can call it that, is that its front element makes it so you cannot use filters on it without rigging up something for a Cokin-type setup or handholding something in front. So no polarizers or ND's. But if you don't have them, or have no desire to go there, then I can heartily recommend the lens.
