Adjusting fstop in manual mode and live view.

On my D5600 in M mode in live view I canít adjust the f-stop. It works fine when using the viewfinder. This works as expected on my D3300. It doesnít work on the D5600 using touchscreen either. Any input would be appreciated.

I don't have the camera to try it, but what exactly does not work? You are pushing the +/- button and turning the wheel... So... is it that you can not change what aperture is shown on the rear screen? Or is it something different doesn't work?
I must have a really good camera.

Right, when you push the compensation (+-) button and rotate the command wheel nothing happens in live view. It works fine in viewfinder mode.

I'll echo what nickt asked. How are you trying to change the aperture? Are you pressing and holding the "+/-" and turning the scroll wheel? That's the procedure on my D5500, and I'm pretty sure it's the same on the D5600.

Sorry - your response to nict wasn't up when I started writing my response to you. I guess I'll ask, just to clarify in my own mind: are you holding the +/- button down when you scroll the wheel?

Yes, nothing happens in live view, works ok with viewfinder.

I just did some googling. I saw a similar question on a d3200. The solution was to turn "manual movie setting" to OFF. Can't try it. Not even sure if you have such a menu. Apparently having it 'on' lets you control shutter and iso, so maybe aperture setting gets disabled when its turned on.

Huh. Well, give it a shot. I'm curious to know if that was it.

Haha! If I'm ever lucky enough to see that beautiful area of the country, I'll take you up on that.

Seriously, I'm glad you got that resolved. Now post some pics!
