Aperture question, and one other thing...

I can't edit the title? Grrrrr.... It's supposed to say Aperture question, and one other thing.... Anyway....

This is the first time I've ever googled questions and not gotten the answer back, only general links to reviews about the camera. I checked the online manual but can't find anything on setting the aperture other than assigning the touch fn button to aperture. There has to be another way to do it. I'm not always using the LCD in live view. On the D3300 I could set the shutter speed by rotating the dial, the ISO by pressing the fn button and turning the dial, and aperture (out of live view of course) by pressing a button near the record button and rotating the dial. Which reminds me, maybe I should have tried that first. But I've already typed all this so...

My second question I've done dozens of videos from 2 to 9 minutes long with accompanying musical soundtrack that have all rendered in Premiere Pro or Encoder in anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour or so. I've got a video right now 4:42 long, with a musical soundtrack and it says 11 hours and change to go. WTF!?! I shot it using Flaat 11, it's one continuous video (of me playing guitar), not 3 or 4 clips. with simple color correction. Any ideas why it would take so long to render?

EDIT: I'm such an idiot. Yes, I can adjust aperture the same was as I did on the D3300.

As for the other problem I imported 3 clips into the project but didn't separate them, so when I dragged the clip I wanted on to the timeline, all 3 went in. I saw the second one and deleted it but there was the third one, which was 9 minutes long by itself. That's why render time was going to be 11 hours. Now it's down to the usual hour and 30 minutes. Thanks, mystic7!

Hi Mystic,

I have no info to address your issues except to mention that I have seen next to nothing at this forum pertaining to video. I do hope you get things worked out.

I guess being that this model is so new there aren't very many posts here. But if you look at the EDIT I added no more than 10 minutes or so after my original post you'll see that I discovered the cause of my problem. Also the reason it happened in the first place ;-)
