oh did a quick google search and its for lenses with an aperture ring , a tab pushes it in and tell the camera to not throw codes - IE G series lens manual focus only

I noticed that my lens Nikon AF-S 17-35 mm 1:2.8 mounted on D5300 does not work anymore (It was working before)
The message is: "Lock lens aperture ring at minimum aperture (largest f/number)" and cannot take any picture or do setting. I found out that on the lens’ ring, it has a notch that when turned in completely, this notch depress the lever in the front body of the camera.
The lever on the body of my camera somehow did not depress completely down prompting the error message. If I manually depress that little level in the camera body, everything work fine, err message go away.
The little lever in the face of my camera is kind of worn out. It supposed to be depressed completely for the lens to work
