The D5300 takes either SDHC or SDXC cards. The one you're asking about is a micro card. SanDisk is a reliable company. Be sure to get some type of card reader to help transfer the images to your computer (Lexar makes good card readers). And when you card(s) arrive, be sure to format them in the body first.

When buying cards from Amazon, make sure they are the real cards, from Samsung or whoever, and not some cheap, Chinese made knockoff.

I remember reading some place that it was not a good choice to use micro SD cards in the camera. I can't remember where, but I think it has to do with the adapter messing with the operation. I have never tried the micro SD cards only the cards that Cindy mentioned above. AS a side note, I use smaller capacity cards (32GB) just so that if one goes bad I still have the others to fall back on and not lose all of my shots.
