Flicker control and CFL bulbs

Recently acquired a set of 3 softbox lights that have 4 - CFL bulbs in each unit. When I go to use this for either portraits or inanimate objects, do I turn the Flicker Reduction on, off or auto?

Thanks

I didn't even know the D5300 had the Flicker Reduction. :)

But CFL bulbs do not flicker. Or more specifically, their flicker is maybe 10,000 flickers per second, totally not any issue.

CFL has builtin electronic ballast to raise this flicker frequency to be extremely high. This is also true of most new ceiling lights today, but the older magnetic ballast type is still available.

Yes, the D5300 does have Flicker Reduction control in the Set Up menu. I just checked mine and it's set to Auto.

Good to know the the CFLs are a non-issue.

Thanks
