Use ML-L3 wireless shutter release AND app simultaneously with the D5300?

Hello all. I have an interesting set of requirements, and I want to know if there is a solution.

I am a professional Santa Claus. I have had customers ask if I can provide photo services. I would like to oblige.
So I want to trigger the shutter on my D5300 remotely. No big deal, bought some ML-L3 wireless shutter releases. The problem now is that I am far enough away from the camera that I can't make out the Live View on the screen to tell when the children are smiling.

So, I downloaded an app to my tablet and was able to connect to the camera's WiFi. I can see the Live View on the tablet now, so great! But with the app connected, the ML-L3 wireless shutter release doesn't work. The tablet is set up over by the camera... I don't want it in the picture, so I can't trigger the shutter with the app.

Is there a setting, or a different app (using Nikon's free app now) that will allow me to display on the tablet, but trigger with the more easily concealed ML-L3 wireless remote?

Thanks,
Santa

I am not sure but I seem to remember that a Yongnuo trigger (622??) set up will work as a shutter release as well as a flash trigger. If I have time later, I will research it to refresh my memory or maybe someone else will chime in.

Look at the Yongnuo RF-602TX and RF-602RX (Not sure but these may be the Canon version and the 603 the Nikon). That is the transmitter and receiver which can be used up to 100 meters apart for a remote shutter release.

Another is the RF605N which will work and is another option for under $35.

Disclaimer: I have never used them or seen anyone else use them.

Do you have a small tv with hdmi input? I think (but not sure) that an hdmi connected tv won't interfere with the ml-l3 remote use. You probably know, but keeping the remote active sucks the battery down very quickly, so that could be a problem too. Something Like Danno mentioned above might be a better and cheaper way to go.
I never ran mine completely down, but an hour of ml-l3 use on my d7200 would leave me with half the battery gone when I have it set up on the bird feeder. It times out after 15 minutes of non-use, so I'd have to snap a picture every 10 minutes or so to keep it active.

OK, I got a pair of Yongnuo RF-603 N3 2.4GHz Wireless Flash Triggers and tested them this evening. I was able to piggyback my Neewer flash trigger on it which was nice. It operated the camera flawlessly but....
It has the same issue... when the camera is connected to a phone or tablet using it's WiFi, that device is the only thing that will operate the shutter. I want to be able to remotely trigger the shutter while using a tablet as the viewfinder.
I'm beginning to think this is not possible. Maybe the camera's firmware is coded this way.
Still looking for suggestions, and very appreciative of answers submitted thus far.
