Howdy Masoud and welcome to Nikonites!

I'm not sure that the D5300 provides the detailed file management that you're looking for. When viewing images on the LCD, the camera is displaying the jpeg, but I does not differentiate between the two files such that one or the other can be deleted without affecting the other. I'll try a test with my D5300 to see if I can come up with any options.

The simplest that comes to my mind would be to buy another card... They are not that expensive and well worth it to have a spare card at all times.

I remember quite well a day when I was traveling in Japan with my Canon in 2000, not having my reading glasses and trying to delete some pics to make room for more...Well, you guessed, I deleted all my pictures.

So I say, have an extra card with you so you don't mess with the already taken pictures.

I always have a spare card. For the D7100, it's easy as their are two slots for memory cards. For the Sony, and it has only one slot, I have to carry a spare. The D7100 is set for backup all the time, and to shoot RAW.
