Upgrade from D3100 to D5200?

Is upgrading from my D3100 to the D5200 worthwhile? I found a new D5200 body only that I can get on sale for approx. $370 which I think is a good price for a new one. For those of you that have upgraded to the 5200, do you regret your decision and would you do it again?
Any input is greatly appreciated.

Well the D5200 *is* going to be a significant jump in both features and technology. You're gaining a lot of things that matter (at least to me) like more focus points, a better TTL meter, better dynamic range, better color depth and better resolution. So in short, yes; I'd call that a worthwhile upgrade. Very much so. If you can snag one for $370 I'd have a hard time telling you not to; that's a $550 body at most legit retailers.

I'm sure someone will want to point out buying a better body won't make you a better photographer...

When they do, point out that it won't make you a worse one, either.

I would think about that...._and_ whether you would like to go mirrorless in the near future. Mirrorless is the wave of the future. An upgrade to the 5200 would be nice, but why not get a great deal on the D7100? That would be a significant upgrade all the way around. Just my opinion(s), and I hope you consider all that I mentioned. Have a great day @ttmctoad.

I think that my best option is to hold onto my 3100 and pick up a D7100 at some point in the future. I assume that a D7200 will come out eventually and hopefully I'll be able to find a used/refurbished D7100 at a fair price.
I really appreciate the help.

If you are happy with the 3100, which I was as well. Then go that route. I sold my 3100 to help fund my 7100. Then got a D3200 to carry as well. I like having two cameras when I go out.
