ISO changes on Manual settings ? Night Photography

Ok, Ive been shooting with my D5100 for just over a year now.. and I love shooting at night time. Here is my question, I shoot in full manual mode at night .. when I choose a ISO of 200 to 400 , and a 15"-30" exposure .. The shot looks great in my camera screen.. , but when I get home and upload the new shots, I notice that the metadata shows an ISO of 6400 and the shot is grainy ?? So the camera is showing ISO of 200 but it still uses 6400?? How can this be?

How can I keep the ISO where I want it to stay ?

Thank You for your help in advance !

In your Custom Settings menu, find and turn off your Auto ISO setting. I'm pretty sure the instructions are in your owners manual.

Please note that the sensor in the D5100 is very capable of higher ISO ratings that do not have much noise. So with ISO 800 you'd probably be fine and maybe this would be true for 1600 as well. Someone who is more familiar with the 5100 might be able to verify this...
