Light and color adjustment

Hi, I have been using my d5100 for 4 months now and I keep having to adjust the color and the light in order to get the desired light, contrast and color saturation (I use aperture to store photos). I want to know if there is a possibility to adjust the camera so that the post adjustments are not so many (and mostly the same for every photo). Any advice?

Read your manual...but the short answer is Yes.. You can create a custom White balance setup, and then use that custom White Balance as the default for your camera...

Before you go tinkering with your camera, I would make sure the monitor you're using to look at these photos is not the problem. You should convince yourself that your monitor is properly calibrated before you assume the issue is in your camera.
