Auto WB on Non CPU Lenses

Hi there!

I have a very old Tokina wide auto 35mm lens that when I attach to my D5100 the camera doesn't recognize it. I can only take photos in Manual mode and EVERYTHING is manual (shutter, aperture, etc). My question is. Since the camera meter reader doesn't work, does setting white balance to Auto have any effect, or I have to set WB also manually? thanks!

Auto WB as stated is fine, and for ultra tweakability later, shoot RAW and you can change the WB in one click if the shot wasnt quite right. I've found many cameras struggle in getting WB right in scenes with odd lighting. Shooting RAW and Auto WB is the best way IMO.
