Added a new lens to my setup (Tamron 17-50mm f2.8)

I just got my new lens today I love the quality of pictures that it produces. I got the VC version but after shooting with it for a while outside I soon realized I didn't even need it. I will need it sometimes I am sure but not while I am just playing around with it. My only confusion is that I bought it for low light indoor shooting and for some reason the shutter speed is so slow that I tried to take a picture of my son and he came out blurry. I had it in aperature setting at f2.8 and the iso at 200. Hmmmmm I am sure it is an operator error and not the lens. Any suggestions on what to change because I would really like to use it for quick indoor pics occasionally. I will post some pics later to show the amazing superb quality (compared to the 18-55mm kit lens)
Thanks

Kids move and even 2.8 will give you slow shutter speeds indoor. Just raise your iso to 800 when inside and you should be a lot better. You might have a little grain/noise, but it's better than a blurred shot any day.

Here are a few sample shots today just messing around nothing too serious. I will do some campison pics tomorrow when I have some free time.

Small Avery Big Smile.jpgSmall Green Flower.jpgSmall Mario Close Up.jpgSmall Goomba Close Up.jpg
All of these were shot at f2.8 and I believe ISO200 and 50mm
Like I said up top I will take some more serious shots later. But as of now I am blown away at the clarity.
Thanks!

I took a few pics outside just walking around and found some good ones in my opinion, so I thought I would share and see what y'all think. Thanks
