1080p FullHD video looks blurry / doesn't look fullHD-dsc_0010-0-00-00-00-.png

This is a cropped composite image of a 1080p video frame (best quality, 25fps, to the left) and a still photo (to the right) taken with the exact same settings (ISO-200, f5.6, 1/50) using the same 50mm prime lens at the same focus. The photo is resized to match the fullHD resolution. This is just the center part of the image, where the focus was set.

The video is very blurry, if fact it doesn't look FullHD to me compared to what comes out of other FullHD cameras. I think it should look more like the photo to the right since both utilize the same sensor. I don't think it is caused by the video compression, it looks more like as if the camera was set to 720p. What could cause this? Am I doing something wrong? Or is this normal?
