Ok, last week I ordered a used Nikon 55-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED VR AF-S DX nikkor zoom lens. It is in mint condition and came with a soft case and a lens hood and caps for both ends. Just unpacked it a few minutes ago and it looks perfect! Hope it shoots as good as it looks. Can't wait to get out there and try it out. I'll post some images soon. Thanks for reading, just had to tell somebody. This is my first assesory (other than camera bag) since buying the camera w/kit lens. So now I can go change my signature!:) LOL

It really is a great feeling getting something new, isn't it :)
But be warned, you've just taken the first step into addiction.. and it's very hard to get out of :p

Thank You, and right you are about the addiction, I'm already contemplating what my next lens will be! Oh man!!! Good thing I don't have anyone to answer to but myself!

Thanks Bill, I reasearched and thought about it for a couple of weeks before pulling the trigger. It was a tough decision but I agree with you, it sounded like a good lens to me too. I thought it was a good choice for my first extra lens. Now the big question, whats next? Hhmmm, prime lens or a macro?

Nate, I bought mine used from Roberts in Indiana. It was advertised as in mint condition and came with all accesories. I paid $227.00 and got free shipping. After unpacking it I was happy to see it really was in mint condition, cosmetically anyway. I haven't shot with it yet but will very soon.

Well sounds like you got a good lens there Mark ! As for the next one the 50mm 1.8G is a ripper ! I am now thinking about the 105mm f2.8 micro for my product photography .
