Intermittent blank screen with battery grip

The last few times ive used my camera with the battery grip i have had a strange issue, where the screen goes blank, couldn't figure out what was causing it to happen, until last Saturday when I finally figured out its from the battery grip... When I rotate my camera from landscape to portrait position the screen goes blank, if I tap on the battery grip, the screen comes back on... I assume it must be some kind of loose connection in the terminals, as when I removed the battery grip I didn't have any other issues... I've only ever used genuine nikon EN-EL14 batteries in it, so it must be the battery pack, which was a relatively cheap one off eBay. Anyone else ever experience similar issues?

I've had mine about 8 months, quite annoying because its much more comfy shooting with the grip...

Be careful, a short can be a very bad thing. I would opt to not use it rather than risking shorting out your system.

You could just cut the part of that goes in the camera and refit the camera battery system, then use it as a grip and battery store and a bit more bulk for the camera:cool: seriously though i did think i would look at that if i didn't like the look of the grip when i got it,no vertical release though.
