Purchased a Nikon 18-105 lens pretty cheap today, paid £90 for it and it has only been used a couple of time.
Got receipts for it, its in excellent condition.

Anyone else got one and what do you think of it.

Cheers

I recently picked up one also... It is now my main everyday lens, resides on the camera most of the time..

I if want reach, I change to my 55-300 and if I want great detail and bokeh, I mount a Prime.. Otherwise, the 18-105 in my dailey lens. Is it the do all-end all?? No and it surely is not the highest IQ lens you can buy but for my budget and dailey use.. it is the Cats Meow..

Thanks for the replies.

I didn`t do any research on the lens as someone offered it to me on the spur of the moment, i am glad i purchased it now especially with the good comments.

Can not wait to get out with it and take some shots

Thanks

Had mine for over 2 years. Love it. It's my every day "go out and shoot whatever" lens that I keep on my D40. Versatile and excellent results from this lens. Wouldn't be without it.

Another thumbs up here :)
I bought mine to replace a faulty 18-55 on my old D40 about 2 and a half years ago and haven't looked back. It's a really decent lens. You got yourself a good deal. I did buy mine new but I paid double that!

I am considering this camera, currently have d5100 with 18-55 vr and 50mm f1.8g.
Can someone advise if there is much gain in terms of image quality, colours and contrast?
Not too concerned about sharpness which are very similar and obviously the extra reach is handy at times.

I assume you meant "considering this lens" I also have a D5100 and bought this lens to replace my 18-55. I have been pleased and use it everyday. I would not say that Image quality etc is better but in mmy opinion it is at least as good and I wanted the extra range for a dailey walk around lens.

When buying my D5100 from store, I took it with this lens instead of the kit 18-55 one.

Am happy I made this choice. I find it an rounder lens suited for my needs.

Ive had the lens for a week now and i think its great, i have taken some nice shots with it. Looking forward to the weekend as ill be doing some long exposures with it, providing my step down ring arrives as all my filters are 52mm fit.

Hi everyone,
I have a d5100 which came with a NIKKOR 18-105 on it. it does not autofocus or focus on the object in distance when it is not zooming. Have you had such an experience ?
Thanks

I bought this lens two weeks ago and it has become my go to lens. This lens isn't perfect, but for everyday use its a great bag for buck. You get pretty good zoom, image quality, and decent Bokeh. I would recommend it.

Whats the length like compared to the 18-55mm lens? Would be great to have that extra range as my daily lens.

I've been looking for one, but for the life of me cannot find one as low as £90! Great price, especially if its in great condition.

Have you checked the focus switch on the side of the lens?
