    Uh oh!

    Uh oh!
This is what it looks like when your D500 shutter goes SPROING after almost 300,000 shutter actuations.

Oh no. Now you're in the same dilemma I'm in - deciding whether or not to send it out for repair right now. Since I broke my little toe today, I'm not in any hurry to go out and take photos. Whatever you choose to do, I'll be thinking about your situation, Woody.

I picked up an extra D500 a while back, used with only 3,000 actuations.

No dilemma, I'll be packing it up and sending it off to Nikon for repair. Sorry about your toe! Toes are one of the most painful injuries. Hopefully it will heal up quickly.
