SD card problem

The other day I took the Sandisk Extreme Pro 64 SD card out and replaced it with a Nikon High Speed 4GB card (the yellow one which came with my D200) and the camera would not operate, the top display shows Card Error!
I tried several SD cards in the slot and they all showed Card Error too, put the 64 Sandisk back in and all was ok, camera operated normally.
I notice the Sandisk 64 has two rows of contacts whereas the others only have one row.
Anyone got any idea what is causing the Error?

The SD card with two rows of connectors is a UHS-II rated card, while the others are probably UHS-I.

Maybe the D500 requires UHS-II type cards? It wouldn't surprise me but I can't confirm it either. The formats are supposed to be backward compatible as well...

Welcome aboard. Enjoy the ride.
We look forward to seeing more posts and samples of your work.

My D200 (and I believe all D200s) only use CF cards. A CF card will not even fit in a D500.

D500 should work fine with any SD card. I have used old, cheap and very slow cards in my D500s without a compatibility problem. Did you format the card in camera?
