Focus beep

My D500 has never beeped when it was focused onto a subject... until now. I absolutely hate this, does anyone know how to turn it off?

If it never beeped before, and you know you didn't mess with the beep menu, you probably recently switched focus modes. You don't get a beep in all focus modes. I think AF-S with focus priority gives the beep. Not sure offhand if af-s with release priority beeps. In Af-C, no beeps regardless of priority setting.

Yup it only beeps in AF-s to tell you its locked on, you can change the pitch of it or turn it off all together in the menu
