Help!!
i tried pairing my iPhone 6S+ with my new D500, but nothing!!
checked online etc., and decided I needed to update the firmware. Went from 1.0 to 1.2. Still nothing. Bluetooth greyed out.
What can I do?🤔🤔

I have version 1.12 on camera. No offer of other updates. Airplane mode is OFF. I'm trying again, but app hasn't detected the camera yet.

Most comments I am reading, regardless of smart device, don't rate the app very highly. Think Nikon need to revise their software.

Spent time today trying to get info from Nikon. Not very successful. Decided to delete app from my phone and reinstall. That's when I noticed I had downloaded the 360/170 version. Feeling somewhat stupid I downloaded the correct app. Took seconds to pair. Happy guy now, ready to try remote photography!!:encouragement:

Thanks. It's nice when people post the solution. Don't beat yourself up, I'm sure most of us could tell a similar tale.

Make sure your battery is charged. In your D500 menu pick the connect option. Couple choices above where you see the gray out.

That is good advice. My camera told me the battery did not have enough oomph. I changed it for a fresh one and the pairing happened without any problems.

I just recently went from a flip phone to a Iphone 7plus and it works great for to or from my phone to camera file transfers. I haven't tried the remote camera operation yet.

Been watching more than a few D500 Reviews lately . . .

Anyway, this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXNNnHLteBI by that crazy oriental chap has some fun with "Snapbridge = slapbridge" and they slap someone whenever they ask about snapbridge. (go to about the 7:20 point in the video to watch the "slap-bridge" bit.

I've also watched a Youtube by "That Nikon Guy" that lists their software like snapbridge as one of Nikon's weakest links.

Seems it is the butt of jokes and an area that gets an "F" - opps, can't say that anymore, as today's teachers would say, an area that needs improvement

I just tried to get it to work again and this time it came right up and worked as intended. There have been a few updates to my S7 maybe one of them fixed the issue.

I'm on an iPhone 6s with the newest iOS on it and the D500 with the latest firmware.
I really do not experience any issues with it.
Snapbridge is used to sync the time and location info.
And if someone needs to have a jpeg (2mb) really quick, I choose the picture on camera and sync it with the iPhone.
So far, I haven't used the remote photo option.

I just got his from Nikon Support

"Hello Mr. Wilson,

We are expecting an update for your camera within the next few weeks that will address several issues. I do not have an exact date to offer you, but I can say it is in the works and will be released as soon as it is ready. We apologize for the inconvenience and ask for your continued patience until that time. I will alert you when it has actually arrived.

Kind regards, "
