One second more Nikon, you can do it!

Major Nikon D5 firmware update version 1.10 now available | Nikon Rumors

So, now the D5 can record for 29 minutes and 59 seconds. Could they not have squeezed out one more second?? lol. I guess it's better then 12 minutes.

I read that the reason cameras only record video up to 29Min 59Sec is due to EU law where there would be a higher tax as it is considered a video camera then.

Who needs more than 30 minutes anyway? I mean... when shooting video you mostly shoot shorts clips of 30 seconds to 3 minutes at max usually...

The exception might be your kids school play or soccer game. There are lots of reasons to shoot for more than 30 minutes. But you are correct that MOST people only shoot short clips.

Who wants to look at 90 minutes of soccer without cuts, You'd still be better of shooting clips and making the 'best moments of' out of the game.
