When i take low light photos on my 18-55 photos are blurry without flash. I want to have the natural light. I wanted to see if it would be more beneficial to get a f/1.8 lens or get a external flash.

Thank for all your help

Most likely your low light 18-55mm shots are blurry due to camera shake because of the low shutter speed. You can try using a tripod and see how much difference it makes.
The 50mm 1.8 is a good lens and will get you a few stops over the 18_55.

Also try and adjust your iso a little, say move it to 400 or 800 and see if that improves the pictures (aswell as using a tripod) like blacktop said

I about always shoot without flash and bought the 50mm 1.8 to be able to shoot with less light but there are of course limitations, as the others said.

Depending upon the shot I can get it sharp to 1/20s or even 1/10s but I shoot bursts to get those sharp shots. If possible I'll rather put the cam on a flat surface or, rarely, use a tripod.
