Is your quality slider at 100%?

Do you have any settings to limit the long or short edge?

Depending on the detail in a photo the raw file size and data will vary, if you have mostly black or white it will be smaller. If you have lots of details it will be larger.

What dimensions are you using? An 8"X12" Jpg at 300dpi is only going to create a 4.5M file

Depends on how much you're cropping.

Have you gone through all the image settings of the camera? Does that model have a DX mode option? Is the image quality setting at its best? On the D700 I have not seen an image file less than 6MP, it is a 12 MP, FX format camera. Hope you get it figured out prior to your upcoming event.

Yes-- I was on the phone with Nikon for several hours and we did a factory reset and made sure my settings were correct. Though my images are exporting around 5MD, when I open the file, the dimensions are the same-- around 4,900 and 3,200 which is huge... I think I'm ok???

Are you viewing the pictures at the corrosponding DPI zoom/scale?
Because the D4 should have a lower DPI then the D7100.
