Hi community,

Recently i got an Nikon D3500. I went to do some urban exploring&photography today and all of the sudden a black line started to apear on the photos (check the photo attached)

Its not memory card i tried to replace it, lens is clear i mean i have the camera for 4 days. Also everything looks fine through lcd screen and viewfinder.

Did anyone had an similar issue? Is it sensor or maby software? Should i just return the camera its under waranty.

Thank you in advance!

Welcome aboard. Enjoy the ride.
We look forward to seeing more posts and samples of your work.

Does this happen with every image? If so, I would seriously consider returning the camera.

You don't see it on the lcd? Even if you zoom in? What are you downloading and viewing with? If you have time, download Nikon software and try it. View NX-i, I think is the one. If you are already using Nikon software, then return it. A current, up to date adobe product would be a good test too.

So, when i look through the viewfinder or lcd screen it does not shows. But when i take a picture it starts showing on the lcd screen. So that means sensor issue or software issue.

Since you are seeing the line in the LCD on the camera after taking the picture, I would say it is time to return the camera and get a replacement.
