Custom Camera Case Foam

I would like to adapt a current “day-use” backpack to a camera case. Any suggestions on foam padding that I can custom cut for the camera body and multiple lenses? But won’t fall apart or slur off?

Thanks,

It's a little stiff but works in some of the smaller spots: The foam 'noodles' sold for swimming pool use. Not a complete solution for a camera case but works good in my small one. Cut them up as needed for a fit.

I wonder if a furniture refurb place (sofa cushions material) could help ? Some of the stuff, I call it 'firm foam' holds together real well and could work. You don't want anything that can crumble or flake of course.

You could get some custom foam padding made professionally. Alternatively, you could look at something called pick and pluck foam which is good for easily making a rough shape for a foam insert. Obviously, you won’t get the best results that way but it would be cheaper. Hope that helps
