Novice Question: why do i need a "Super Wide Hi Def Fisheye Lens For Nikon D3400"

i mean, it is a camera toy, so surely i need one, right? i have a regular lens, a wide angle, and a telephoto. i bought this camera for myself for christmas on the excuse of the family summer trip to the UK in a couple weeks. do i gave a good excuse for this purchase? what would i use it for?

That gizmo is an additional lens that you are supposed to attach to the front of a regular lens? Well, imaging quality will be pretty poor, so keep your expectations low. On the other hand, the pictorial value of said add-on lens could be very nice and fun, so don't throw it away until you've tested it.

The only reason why you need it is because you believed the sales add that made you believe you might be happy if you buy it.

But in real life, you absolutely don't need that kind of "screw on" attachment. It will only make your pictures less sharp. You might enjoy it for the first 2 days and then it will end up being an expensive paper weight.

I agree with all that's been said. You won't like it. The novelty will wear off fairly quickly once you start looking at the crappy images it delivers.

Save your allowance for a while and buy a real lens.

If you have Photoshop or Lightroom, you can shoot photos with your wide angle lens then use the distortion feature (found in Camera RAW via Photoshop) to create images that resemble fisheye images. I wanted a rectilinear fisheye lens for the longest time. Now that I have one, I rarely use it.

Yup....good decision. My Dad had an expensive Fish-eye. I can remember maybe 2 images he made with it.
